Hare Krishna Maha Mantra 3 -

Chanting Maha Mantras Is Hip and the Rap of Religion. Mahatma Ghanid Aims To Be the Puff Daddy of Sari Fashion.

Try singing a Catholic hymn amidst a crowd queued for the train to work. In your business attire you’d come off as abnormal and people will look at you askance. Singing in public during rush hours is usually reserved for would be folk singers with guitars and hippie get-up often highlighted by ubiquitous unwashed denims

Chanting the Maha Mantras to the Abba Krishna whatever your religious leanings are could invite benign smiles and admiration mostly from the womenfolk. It’s so hip and romantic. A Sari cape draped over the pinstripe business suit would especially be fashion avant-garde and lend Himalayan transcendental airs. A blonde will find it hard to resist a smile leading you to drop that carefree hook line, “How about a quick cup of coffee at the next stop?” “I can explain the Maha Mantras.”

You can probably brush up on Yoga to embellish your Guru pretensions. Don’t worry about delving deeply into the essence of the Krishna fold. It started in India many eons ago when the God the Father Almighty made His appearance well before the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ in a manger in Galilee 2,000 years ago. The important thing is to start an informal liaison with God to inculcate as an integral part of your daily existence and activity.

Prayer sometimes gives you a migraine. Most of the time, if you grew up as an agnostic you’d find it difficult to mumble prayers in the air to nobody in particular who’s visible to the human eye. You feel like a schizophrenic who’s talking to himself. Don’t! Just hum the Maha Mantras in an unobtrusive way. The words Hare Krishna, Hare Rama glorify God the Father. That could be the length and breadth of your entire religious exposure. That’s enough. Just acknowledge His existence. You are saved. At what cost? Almost none and almost no trouble or inconvenience at all.

The good thing about chanting Maha Mantras to the Abba Krishna is they make you romantic and inspired. You begin to notice the positive things around you. In the gloom of the depression, you become creative above the din of the hopelessness. You begin to get an insight that’s way above the capacity of the multitude to grasp because they are hopelessly embroiled in their travails like ostriches with heads stuck in a hole. Then they wonder why they see only darkness in the holes while you see light all around.

Love has it’s beginnings in caring for oneself and then it transposes to a sensitivity to the plight of others. That’s what the knowledge of the Abba Krishna fosters in your person and being. You begin to feel and behave in a way that extends beyond the limits of your human body. The body is not supposed to encumber you and keep you rooted to the ground. Paying homage to God should not be a burden too upsetting to carry. Make it a quiet beginning in your psyche and later if it blossoms to something above your expectation, then maybe you can start looking at the offerings in the Bible, the Koran, the Vedas, and other forms. Amen.
